I am not talking about proving yourself right during a debate or all the time but i am talking about times where you believe in yourself yet find people putting you down.
Everyday lots of people give up on their dreams because they were put down by others. As a result their lives become miserable, they get depressed and they usually never stand up again.
If you have a big dream or if you believe in a certain idea then it makes a lot of sense that you learn how to prove that you are right even if all people think that you are wrong.
The young man who was extremely passionate about his idea went to Atari, one of the largest electronics companies at that time, and explained the idea he believed in to them which was the personal computer. But The guys at Atari said no!
The passionate man didn't give up and he went to Hewlett-Packard and made the same offer but this time he was told: "Hey, we don’t need you. You haven’t got through college yet"
Lets just stop here. If you were that man what would have you done? The experts or the ones who know a lot about the industry told him indirectly that his idea was stupid! Most people will give up after facing such a rejection from such an authoritative source. (see Why experts are wrong)
But the man didn't give up and decided to work on his idea in his own garage and within years his company became worth Billions!
That made is Steve jobs!
If Steve jobs accepted the rejection and decided to give up then no one would have known his name! The same goes for you today, if you decided to stop after facing similar rejections then no one will remember your name as well.
when i handed the script of the first book i ever wrote to a large publishing house the man told me that i should leave the country and get a good job somewhere abroad where i will be more appreciated. That was a devastating rejection for me. I gave up on writing for few month because i actually believed the man!
