Think positively! you must be positive!
positive thinking is great!

I am sure you have seen these advice somewhere before. I know that everyone is asking you to think positively without actually telling you how to do it! That's why i decided to write a post to tell you how to think positively.
Ben, a 39 years old man who has lots of white hair. Ben exercises regularly since he was young but in the past 2 weeks his performance dropped because he wasn't in the mood to exercise.
As soon as this happened Ben started to ask himself the question "Am i getting old?"
For the first instance the question seemed logical but when putting in mind the fact that he was exercising very well 3 weeks ago that negative thought becomes meaningless.
But what triggered the negative thought in the first place?
Ben's poor performance was the reason he started thinking negatively.
This means that actions trigger certain thoughts. If on another day Ben did an amazing job exercising then positive thoughts will start flawing in his mind.
Lets suppose that you were feeling down because of a problem that seemed to have no possible solution. Doing your best to think positively will very less likely result in any mood improvement but a single action that might give you some hope will most likely bring you many positive thoughts.
In short, you don't have to wait for the positive thoughts to come in order to become motivated to take actions but you need to take positive actions first and the positive thoughts will follow!
In the Solid Self confidence program i said that you won't believe that you are a professional soccer player before you prove to yourself that you are a real good player.
During the period where you will be trying to prove to yourself that you are good you might not be feeling that confident. In short, you have to take actions first before you can feel confident and the same goes to positive thinking.
You have to take actions while you don't have any positive thoughts in order to force your mind to bring you positive thoughts.
Of course there are many other things that you can do to trigger positive thoughts before you take actions like listening to motivating music, reading inspiring stories..etc.
But even if you motivated yourself using such stuff you will shortly lose your motivation if you didn't take powerful actions.
In short, the best way to bring positive thoughts is to take strong actions.
