According to Wikipedia: He remains one of the most famous and influential of all composers.
That child was Beethoven!
The previous story is correct though the conversation is made up. Beethoven was rejected by his music teacher and she/he thought that he will never make it as a composer. The teacher even told his parents about it!
Had Beethoven's parents gave up on him or had Beethoven decided to believe the experts (the music teachers in this case) he wouldn't have made it and no one would have heard of him.
Do you know that Albert Einstein was thought to be a dumb child by his teachers? Teachers thought that Einstein had less than average IQ and that he was a very lazy student.
The tutor of Warren buffet, the greatest investor of all time, advised his parents to find him a career that is not related to investments at all because he was not qualified.
Why do experts reject people who shortly become so famous?
Why do some people prove experts wrong and why do some others prove them right?
The common thing between the 3 people mentioned in this article is that they all refused to accept the opinion of others about their talents.
If you believed in yourself you will prove the experts wrong even if they were right at the time of rejecting you. If you believed in yourself you will keep learning until you will master what you love and as a result you will succeed.
Rejections can only affect you when you choose to believe in them. Some people chose to believe those who reject them and as a result they never succeed while some others decide to keep going and as a result they prove the experts wrong. (see Why experts are wrong)
In 2004 i went to meet the CEO & founder of one of the biggest publishing houses in the middle East. At that time i had 20 pages of my first book written and i wanted to publish it through his publishing house.
The man replied saying: You will never succeed in Egypt and i am only interested in publishing books about politics (he was just rejecting my book politely)

Again the expert was wrong!
When you get rejected by anybody in the world just put in mind that you have the chance to prove him right by giving up or making him look like a fool years later by being persistent.
I have managed to become a self made millionaire at the age of 28. This didn't happen by chance because i already wrote that goal down five years before i accomplished it. Becoming rich is not about luck, starting big or being intelligent but its all about having certain beliefs about money and life.
