How positivity can change your life

What happened to me?

This is not just a catchy title i used to attract readers nor its an exaggerated one because when you understand how positive thinking affects the mind you will understand the powerful effects it can have on your life.

It has been 40 days since i started getting exposed to positive messages on daily basis from optimistnet the social network for positivity and motivation.

After the first few days of getting exposed to those positive posts i noticed that my mood improved slightly. Then after one week i started to notice that i am becoming more optimistic.

But after 40 days something really strange happened. I noticed that some of my negative beliefs have already changed! I started to believe in myself more and i became pretty certain that i am going to reach all of my important goals.

How positivity can change your life

So what happened to me?

I said so many times before that when a certain statement is repeated over and over its very likely to become a belief.

But sometimes your mind gets bored of that statement and stops putting high weight to it anymore. Remember the last time you heard a motivating song? How did you feel after listening to it for one week?

Didn't you notice that the motivational effect of this song became weaker?
Its because your subconscious mind gets more stimulated by new experiences. (see also Why do we get bored of songs)

Now what if the same statement was repeated over and over but in different ways?
Won't your mind keep reinforcing that positive belief each time one of those statements is repeated?

This is exactly what happens on optimistnet. One person will tell you that you will make it, then seconds later another person will post a positive quote telling you that you will make it then in few minutes someone will post a video that will reinforce the same idea.

In other words, my mind got programmed in those 40 days until my beliefs were changed. (see also How negative words turn into negative beliefs)

What about the negativity we get exposed to?

But what about the negativity we get exposed to everyday? Doesn't it also affect our beliefs? Yes this is also true.

So how can someone develop positive beliefs about life?
The answer is very simple, get exposed to more positive statements than negative statements and you will develop positive beliefs.

If the opposite happened you will become a negative thinker, a pessimistic person and you might get depressed.

Whether we like it or not we get exposed to a tremendous amount of negativity in our lives. If we didn't balance this negativity with an equivalent amount of positivity we will certainly develop negative beliefs about life.
